A few weekends ago, my dad came home with a massive bag full of meyer lemons. For all the cooks out there, you would know that these lemons are really great for cooking in sweets. So it was my challenge to make something yummy and healthy with dad’s lemon bounty. What was made was a delicious refined sugar free, gluten free, paleo lemon slice.

We all love chocolate, and this cake is gluten free, dairy free, refined sugar free and protein rich. It is a big more decadent than the last cake I made and would make a great birthday cake. It really fills you up while satisfying that chocolate craving.

Our Paleo Naturopath Samantha this week experimented in the kitchen and came up with this very yummy, gluten free, dairy free and sugar free paleo chocolate cake. Yes the ingredient list does look a little weird, however we can promise you that this is the most moist chocolate cake you have ever tasted which is 100% guilt free.

Most Australian’s would realise by now (I hope), that a steady diet of cheeseburgers and soft drinks will not lead to a happy and healthy life. What some of you might not know, is that there is another offender that most of us would never suspect to be causing problems. That silent villain is gluten, a protein found in wheat, rye, barley and spelt. Gluten basically gives these foods their elasticity and acts a bit like glue in the bowels.

Tuesday night’s event was a hit. I feel that everyone who attended learnt at least one new thing that they did not know about how food can be used as medicine.

Sometimes the answer to a problem is simple, but we either don’t want to believe it or we are too distracted to see it. What I’m talking about is an important aspect to treating knee pain – and keeping the pain away.
